You are not having a nightmare, this is real..
Looks like it is fresh out of an aliens movie sucking on somebody's face. This crazy looking thing is called the Pacific Lamprey. It is Brown or dark blue, depending on the type.
It spends most of its life as a larvae, and can grow up to around 30 inches- one even being recorded as living up to 17 years. Some Native American tribes along the Colombian river actually eat them!
Not to worry though, this ugly thing is a parasite that sucks on fish for food.
