Lets think about why.

Following the trends of those who are popular is considered cool. Those who are popular are basically the people we see on TV and in tabloids. With the rise in reality TV, we have really seen a huge increase of people without talent or anything in terms of intelligence in our living rooms. 

It is sad- I almost feel that some people think it is cool to be dumb now. Lets stop this now by ridiculing an idiot like Paris Hilton who thinks Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King jr. are the same person.
