Did you know that the world's first camera took 8 hours to make a single photograph? Joseph Niepce, the Frenchman credited as being the inventor of photography, came up with what we know nowadays the world's first permanent camera. He took his very first photograph in 1826 and it took him nearly 8 hours because it was basically a heliographic engraving made on a metal plate coated with asphalt.
