Heather Charlebois proves that it’s dangerous to be outside during 4th of July celebrations.
Heather and her boyfriend decided to go out during the 4th of July celebrations this year and they sat down in a local café in DeLand, Florida, US, later that evening. During their night out Heather got injured badly in one of her legs. All of a sudden she felt a nasty sting and later saw that there was an open wound on her leg.

She and her boyfriend managed to clean her up in the café’s restroom. They thought the woman had been accidentally hit by a firecracker because of the celebrations that were going on outside.
On the 8th of July Heather’s wound still hurt badly, so she decided to visit an expert. She went to a hospital and her doctor told her to get an X-ray. The pictures revealed that the truth was far from what Heather and her boyfriend had thought initially. As it turned out, the woman had been shot with a 0.38 caliber bullet. The bullet had lodged itself nearly 4cm inside Heather’s thigh, which explained the ongoing pains.
The local police are still trying to figure out the bullet’s origin. They didn’t receive any tips from witnesses regarding a shooting near the café where Heather and her partner were, so they believe the bullet came from a further distance. Unfortunately for the woman, the doctors ruled out that the bullet inside her leg is lodged too close to one of her major arteries. Having this in mind, they have decided not to take it out of the woman’s leg. Heather herself commented on the case stating that she feels fortunate because of the fact that she’s alive. She claims that she and her family have already been through a lot of bad things.
