Slovenia is not Slovakia (they really don't like when you mix them up- but it happens ALL OF THE TIME..)

Although these two countries were once part of other countries (Slovakia was part of Czechoslovakia, and Slovenia from Yugoslavia). They were both formed in the 1990's

But Slovakia and Slovenia continue to get mixed up. One year President Bush said "The only thing I know about Slovakia is what I learned first hand from your foreign minister." He was in fact speaking to the Slovenian leader. Once Silvio Berlusconi told media that he was very happy to be meeting with the Slovakian ambassador- but he was in fact speaking with the Slovenian one..

This kind of thing happens all of the time, and whats even worse is how mail is constantly mixed up- in fact the two countries meet once a year to exchange mail that was sent to the wrong country!
