Buttons on men's and women's shirts are on different sides!

Have you ever wondered why men's jackets have their buttons down opposite sides? You probably haven't, but find a button up blouse or jacket of the opposite sex and take a look at it- report back what you find. MOST people will notice they are on opposite sides, but why? 

It isn't like all men are right handed, and all women are left handed- actually, it is a known fact that most people in the world are right handed... So what gives? Well traditionally men dressed themselves, and women were dressed by servants. It was a faster and easier task for the servant to dress the lady of the manor if the buttons were flipped.

Even though not everyone has servants anymore, the tradition has lived on.
