America.. The land of the automatic car. Barely anyone has an stick shift vehicle anymore- and the art of driving a manual car is all but lost. Actually, that fact does have its benefit though. 

It's an amazing car theft blocker. Car insurance companies will rest easy if you have a stick shift because it means you will probably not get your car stolen by some average thief. Recently in Florida, 3 teens tried to rob a lady at gun point. They flagged her down- and she stopped to help, which is when they pulled the gun. It was at this point that the boys jumped in the car, and right back out when they noticed it was stick shift. He was caught later that day and charged with robbery, theft, and criminal mischief. 

That will teach you to do a good deed.
