Chimpanzee art is a hit!

In Sweden- a journalist wanted to show the world that art is to be treasured no matter what it is who who made it.. In 1964 an art gallery by the "renowned" artist Pierre Brassau was presented to the public. The only thing is there is no Pierre Brassau, and all of the paintings were actually done by a monkey.

Critics loved it- one named Rolf Anderberg, a journalist from  Göteborgs-Posten, wrote "Brassau paints with powerful strokes, but also with clear determination. His Brush strokes twist with furious fastidiousness. Pierre is an artist who performs with the delicacy of a ballet dancer.." But not all of the critics were on Pierre's side, in fact one actually stated that "Only an ape could have done this.." One painting actually sold for $90, which was quite a bit of mula at the time.
