Peacock feathers have the reputation of having some of the most beautiful feathers in the bird kingdom. However, there are some common misconceptions as to why they look the way they do.
Female peacocks (And I'm sure you know this) have brown feathers. Male peacocks (I bet you didn't know this) also have brown feathers.
I know you are disagreeing right now, but its actually the structural coloration of the feathers which make them so beautiful. You see, the feathers are brown pigmented- but because of their structure and the way the sun hits them- different parts of the feather take on a different color!
