Why do we get the hiccups.. This is a question i always think about- right when i get the hiccups. Your chest is contracting and your loss of breath is annoying.. These are a few simple facts about your body..

Why do you always get the hiccups during a conversation???!!!

You get the hiccups when your diaphragm is irritated. The gasping for breath you feel is your diaphragm sucking in air, and your vocal chords resisting. 

Why your hair stands up on the back of your neck when you are scared.

If you ever startle a dog, you will see the hair on the back of his neck stand up- it is to make him look bigger, and therefore a bigger threat. It is the same as us, but evolution has changed our fur to hair- so not exactly the same effect..



Why you get goosebumps? 

We cover with blankets when we are cold and when we are paniced it should seem- and your body is doing just that when you get goosebumps. Each goose bump has a hair on it, and your body is essentially trying to wrap itself up.

Why do your ears ring?

Your ears act like a microphone to the world- and if a sound is too loud it makes the little hairs in your ears ring..
