Did you know that the book and the movie Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone were renamed in the US editions to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone on behalf of Rowling herself? The US publication team thought children wouldn't want to read a book or watch a movie that has the word "philosopher" in the title. J. K. Rowling suggested to swap "philosopher" with "sorcerer" and the team went with her idea.
