In 1912, Franz Reichelt designed an overcoat to fly to the ground like a parachute. He tested it by jumping from the Eiffel tower...

Needless to say it didn't go too well.

What he wanted to do was create an overcoat that could act like a parachute- if you were falling off of a building or an airplane.... or the Eiffel Tower?

Problem is he didn't put it on a sack of flour, he just jumped.  And he didn't bounce either..

May he rest in peace.
