TYDK about some countries in the world...
The way the world is divided up can be hard for some to process, by that I mean their customs and their way of doing things. I am always interested in these, so here are a few facts about other countries:
1- The country of Liechtenstein, up in the Alps, is rentable. You can actually rent the country for a minimum of two days, for 70,000 a night. Pretty cheap stuff, considering the fact that it sleeps 900 people!
2- 90% of the crime committed in the Helmand province of Afghanistan is committed by the Afghan police force. Similarly, Vatican city- one of the smallest countries in the world- has reportedly the highest crime rate in the world with just over 600 out of 800 residents annually.
3- 2.5 million novels by Mills and Boon were added to the tarmac of the M6 highway- in England- order to make it more absorbent. Also in England, in 1997 39 people found themselves hospitalized due to tea cozy related injuries.
4- Since 1990, China has drastically lowered their poverty rates from 85% of their population to just 15%. Also from China, half of the children born there are born by Caesarean surgery.
5- Cocoa production in South america equals a half million tonnes- or 87% of the chocolate eaten annually by the british.
