Who is the North Pond Hermit?

Christopher Knight, a man who lived like a hermit for decades- built a make shift camp in Rome, Maine. He was living in a national park, where for 27 years he would rob houses and cottage owners in the area.
He became so well known that cottage owners would actually leave out food for him to take- so he wouldn’t break in.
A surveillance trap was set up by the game warden, and the North Pond Hermit- as he is known through local lore – was caught trying to steal food from a camp for people with special needs.
The Game warden said he was responsible for over 1000 burglaries, where he would treat his surroundings like a “Walmart.”
