It’s official : Australian actor Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus have publicly announced their breakup just a couple of days ago. The 23-year-old actor was spotted leaving a Los Angeles hotel with his mom, Leonie, apparently seeking comfort from her.

Liam and Miley first met while filming the romantic drama ‘The Last Song’ in 2010 and their relationship has been in the spot light ever since. In May 2012, just half a year ago, the handsome Aussie proposed to Miley with a huge 3.5 carat engagement ring and the teen idol happily announced that she was “looking forward to a life with Liam”. Yet, here they are, broken up. According to people close to Liam, the actor has been struggling with their relationship for the past year and Miley’s recent performance at the MTV Video Music Awards allegedly was “the last nail in the coffin”. Liam was disgusted by the 20-year-old star’s over-the-top provocative dance in nude lingerie that gathered thousands of viewers on youtube and decided it’s time to let go.
However, it seems as he didn’t take long to get over Miley. Liam and Mexican actress Eiza Gonzales have recently been spotted at several different location in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. The 23-year-old Eiza is a huge telenovela star in her native Mexico. Some media sources have recently alleged Eiza of copying Miley ever since the two were starring in the teen movies : Eiza always seemed to appear in a similar outfit, haircut or pose some time after Miley’s photographs had been made public
