In 2009 Burger King had a bizarre marketing campaign, called Whopper Sacrifice Challenge, that involved unfriending 10 people from your Facebook friends in order to get a coupon for a free Whopper. But the challenge was not as simple as that : after you’ve chosen which people to unfriend they are all sent a message stating : Your friend just sacrificed you for a burger.
The application was disabled soon after its launch because of multiple unfriending. Over 200,000 people have been sacrificed.
