Did You Know That Days After Hurricane Katrina A Man With Extensive Criminal History Stole A School Bus And Rescued….

On September 1, 2005 Jabbar Gibson took an abandoned school bus and drove it from New Orleans to Houston, Texas to rescue victims after the city was flooded because of Hurricane Katrina. Jabbar took on board more than 70 people and drove for hours on until they reached Houston, only stopping for gas. Apparently, people passed a hat around until they gathered enough money for fuel.

Despite his noble and selfless act, Jabbar was charged with appropriating and driving the bus which he didn’t have the required license for. Gibson, who was 18 at the time, had been arrested numerous times before for car stealing, drug possession and aggravated assault. In 2006 he was arrested for drug possession again and later taken to Orleans Parish Prison.
